Faith in Action & John Paul II Awards Evening

On the 1st of October, over 30 young people from Blessed George Napier School in Banbury gathered at St John the Evangelist Church with their staff, families, Bishop Richard Walker, Fr. Philip and The Kenelm Youth Trust for the Faith in Action & John Paul II Awards Evening. Over the course of the night we heard of the many wonderful ways that these young people, from Y7 through to Y13, have served the parish cluster, school and wider community with over 1170 hours of service given in social action projects and work in  evangelisation. It was a wonderful evening and we are so proud of all of our award recipients and their hard work. Many congratulations to Lizzie Harris our Award Leader.

Marking the Eucharistic Congress in the Archdiocese

The weekend of October 10/11 marks the Adoremus Eucharistic Congress in London. 
A wonderful event aimed to renew each of us and our devotion to the real presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. 
The Kenelm Youth Trust will be sending a delegation of our young adults to help represent the Archdiocese. As attendance to the event is limited, we have also organised our own event in the diocese to help us mark the congress and especially pray with our young people and young adults in the presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

Adorare is an evening of adoration, prayer, praise and worship. This opportunity for encounter is open to all to join us in prayer for our country, our world and our young people. Whether you are here for an hour or 10 minutes, we would love to see you in Banbury and joining us for prayer and social time afterwards in the Dupius Centre at St Johns Church.

Go with Hope  - Diocesan Youth Day

Doors open at 12:30pm and we finish with Mass at 6pm

An opportunity for young people to gather as a church and explore how we can live as disciples of hope within our parishes and in our own lives. A day filled with: Games, Challenges, Workshops indoors and outdoors, Worship, Talks and the Sacraments. We will be sharing and celebrating our faith in a way that brings hope to our community. 

During this year of St Francis we look at how his life can inspire us in our own faith journey. With a focus on his spirituality and how he journeyed with Christ through prayer and devotions. All are welcome to the stunning grounds and venue that is Oscott College!

Christ the King Sunday, also marks World Youth Sunday across the Archdiocese of Birmingham - a special day to recognise the beauty, gifts and joy that young people bring to the life and mission of the Church.

On Sunday 21st-22nd November we are asking every parish to encourage a young person to share their experience of faith and help raise the profile of the work of the Kenelm Youth Trust. There is a helpful script provided. There will also be a second collection on this weekend to support the work of KYT and its mission in the life of the Church.
Each parish is also asked to pray for our young people, and a special bookmark will be available with a prayer written for youth ministry incorporating the work in our centres at Alton Castle, Soli and in our schools.

An incredibly useful tool in youth ministry
NEW DATES FOR THE  JAN 2027 COURSE

Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses are for everyone who works with, lives with or supports young people aged 8-18. They will teach you the skills and confidence to spot the signs of mental health issues in a young person, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. In doing so, you can speed up a young person’s recovery and stop a mental health issue from getting worse.
Our courses won't teach you to be a therapist, but we will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis - and even potentially stop a crisis from happening. 

If you are interested in taking part in our mental health first aid CERTIFICATED course. The dates are: Jan 11th, 14th, 25th and 28th. The times are 6pm - 9pm and it is on zoom

Join the Kenelm team in the stunning building and grounds of St. Mary's College, Oscott. The day includes prayer, talk, discussion, time in the grounds, adoration and Mass. We will be providing a cooked homemade lunch in the refectory. All this for £20pp
