Fr Francis Dickinson CSsR
70 years profession as a Redemptorist
On Saturday 4th September 2021 we were delighted to celebrate a mass of thanksgiving for Fr Dickinson as he celebrated 70 years profession as a Redemptorist - a remarkable feat for a remarkable person!
Please take a look at some of the images below of his mass. Click on the images if you would like to enlarge them.
You may be aware that Fr Dickinson has had a range of responsibilities within the Redemptorist community over the past 70 years.
He spoke fondly about all of them and for the love that he had serving in all of the parishes that he was fortunate enough to be a part of.
As you can see from the images below, Fr Dickinson would immerse himself into all of the communities that he served and none more so than when he had the privilege to serve the people of Sunderland - he has always had a soft spot for their football team and, at the end of most masses, would often remind us of their progress!
It was wonderful that the Kerelan community in the parish were able to congratulate Fr Dickinson on his 70 years profession as a Redemptorist too.
Congratulations to Fr Dickinson; an inspirational man whose humility, compassion and knowledge is very much appreciated by us all at The Abbey.
